I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to El Capitan 10.11.6. I bought this Mac in late 2011and was informed FCP X 10.3.4 was the latest version compatible with it. Where can I get a download link if it is still available?

As Luis said, major misunderstanding here, and my reply was quite wrong in light of this information that you already purchased an earlier version of the software. You would have needed to get the trial version of 10.2.3 before updating further. Then updated projects and events in the trial version, then updating the OS, and then finally updating the FCP libraries.

Is there a new way that FCP 10.3 handles importing music from itunes? For me, after adding the mp3 under the clip, the audio track for that music is automatically disabled for some reason. Is this behavior documented somewhere?

In Final Cut Pro X 10.3, the Inspector height is no longer limited. Simply double-click on the Inspector heading to get a full vertical view. This is great if you have a clip with multiple audio tracks and/or multiple effects.

As noted above and in the Release Notes, there are many more new features, fixes, and improvements in this version. Way too many for me to go into in this post. FCP X 10.3 is also really fast. It opens faster (the UI appears first now, then the Libraries open), and runs as fast or faster than previous versions for me.

SMB3 supports faster data transfer speeds, better compatibility, file sharing, asynchronous multi-user collaboration, and real-time video editing directly from your NAS. Earlier versions of Final Cut Pro X (earlier than 10.3) do not support the SMB3 protocol, but must instead mount shared folders using the NFS protocol.

I have a Hackintosh running MacOS 10.12.6 on an Intel i7 5820K processor (overclocked to 4.3 GHz), 32 GB Corsair 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM, a Gigabyte X99 UD4 board, and an ASUS NVidia GTX960 OC Strix Edition Video Card with 4GB DDR5 VRAM. I am getting an average time of 11 seconds on the BruceX 5K benchmark in FCPX 10.3.4. I am using the System Definition of iMac15,1 (which seemed appropriate for my hardware), and background rendering is turned off.

Apple has updated its lineup of professional video editing apps, releasing Final Cut Pro X 10.3.3, Compressor 4.3.2, and Motion 5.3.2. Both Final Cut Pro X and Compressor deal with DVD-related issues, resolving a bug that rendered Share to DVD unresponsive, improving the font quality of DVD menu and chapter titles, improving image quality when creating a DVD, and adding enhanced DVD User dialog messages with links to documentation.

This version is a relatively big deal for DVD creation. I had to outsource Dvd burning to Toast, because FCPX was not responsive to the sharing command. It added 45 minutes of rendering/burning time for my volunteer video guy.
